Hello to all ACMOC Chapter 12 Members :
I would like to start out saying that I am sorry for the delay in getting this letter to you but I have been out of town working very long hours.
So to bring you up to date I have now been elected as a national ACMOC board member, and I am involved in two subcommittees as well, I hope to serve the national and local members well, if you have any questions about ACMOC please contact me.
Below are the minutes from our last meeting :
11-06-10
Held Chapter meeting on the grounds of the Ederville show in Carthage, NC.
We started the meeting at 2:00 PM.
8 members and 2 visitors attended the meeting
14 members attended the show with 10 machines from the chapter present.
Ken let us use the old welcome center to set up as a chapter office and also got Gregory Poole involved with the show.
Those attending the meeting were:
Erik Christenbury, Ed Christenbury, Hugh Hash, David Young, Jerry and Jane Immel, Henry Davis, Chad Poe, and visitors Dave and Joann Wintermiute
We did have the promise from 5 people to join Chapter 12 during the show.
We have allot of interest and always gain new members during the shows that we attend, this goes to show you that it is very important to get out to shows and promote the club and chapter to secure the growth and future of the ACMOC club.
During the meeting the following topics were discussed:
Chapter dues - were decided on as an essential part of the chapter for administrative purposes and getting some insurance to cover members during shows and meetings.
The amount of $ 20.00 was voted on and passed by all in favor . The dues will start in Jan. 2011.
2011 Show locations - The Richland Farm show in Saluda, SC. and the Field Days of the Past in Richmond, Va. were recommended for 2011 but we are still open for suggestions before a final schedule is presented.
Chapter Officers - Erik Christenbury was voted on as 2011 chapter president and Ed Christenbury was voted on as Chapter Vice President, with dues not apart of the chapter Ed Christenbury volunteered as the Chapter treasurer.
2013 National Show - ACMOC will be having a national show in Chapter 12's region and will be looked upon by ACMOC as a local contact to assist in making arrangements and offering support to make that show the best it can be. Right now Denton, NC. and Carthage, NC. are being reviewed as a possible sites, more information will be given as it is received. I would like to take the time to thank all that came and the support for all members to help make chapter 12 what it is today and what it will be in the future. I would also like to say thank the Eder's for their hospitality and letting us come and be apart of the show. We had a great time!

Well a few things have been decided since that meeting was held. The ACMOC Board of Directors chose Eders show, 100+ Years of Progress, to be the location of the 2013 National Show. The show is scheduled for the first weekend in November of 2013. The obligations of Chapter 12 are still being decided by ACMOC national, and I would like all of you to be an active part in this show. One of our goals is to have at least 100 Caterpillar machines present at the show. The last time that there was an ACMOC National show in our region was in 2007 at the field days of the past show in Richmond Va. We need to have a brain storming secession to gather ideas on how we can help make this show one to remember.
Chapter 12's show schedule is as follows:
The Richland Farm show in Saluda, SC. Sept. 16-18
The Field Days of the Past in Richmond, Va. Nov. 4-6
100+ Years of Progress in Carthage, NC. Nov. 4-6
(As you can see that Nov. has two shows during the same weekend, this was decided because the members had expressed equal interest in both shows.)
As stated in the minutes above, chapter dues are now needed to have insurance for its members at shows and meetings, and to cover administrative cost like sending this letter, the majority of our members do not have or use a computer.
Please make the $ 20.00 chapter due payable to:
Ed Christenbury
P.O. Box 1700
Liberty, NC. 27298
336-339-3084
If you have already sent your payment in we thank you for being a part of Chapter 12 and look forward to seeing you.
One final note, we need stories about either a person or a tractor for the ACMOC magazine, please contact me and I will help get it in print. If you have any other ideas or plans that you would like the chapter to participate in please contact me, Erik Christenbury, at 336-339-3133 or erik@chriscomachinery.com
